Winter 2011/12 Update

We've Got Sandbags!

Whether you're using them as weight in your vehicle or you're building a dam to stop a flood, Sharecost is your best source for sandbags.

Our ready-made sandbags weigh at least 50 pounds each, and we use a woven plastic bag (instead of burlap) for durability.

Pre-filled sandbags cost $4.50 each.

If you're feeling tough, you can bag your own for $3.00 each (includes the sand, plastic bag, and a loop tie to secure them shut – we'll even lend you a shovel).

We can also sell you just the bags (plastic or burlap) if you have a pile of sand at home.

Be prepared, and be careful!

Winter Store Hours

The days are shorter, and our hours have been reduced slightly for the winter. The following store hours are in effect:

  Weekdays: 7:30am – 5:00pm
  Saturday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
  Sunday: Closed

Now Closed Sundays

Please note that we are now closed on Sundays until the Spring of 2012.

It's not all bad news though: remember that your rentals won't count as a day when we are closed. For example, if you rent something on Saturday, you can return it on Monday for a 1-day charge.

We will continue to be open 6 days a week, from Monday to Saturday, all Fall and Winter long.

Our Overnight Rate

Working in the evenings? Don't forget that you are able to rent ANY piece of equipment overnight, return it the next morning, and only pay the 4-hour rate**. Great deal for those after-work projects!

Here's how the overnight rate works:

  Monday–Thursday: Pick up after 2:00pm, return the next day by 8:30am
  Friday: Pick up after 2:00pm, return Saturday by 9:00am
  Saturday: Pick up ANY time, return Monday by 8:30am for a 1-DAY charge
  Sunday: We're currently closed.

** Please note: now that we're closed on Sundays, you can take any rental at ANY time on Saturday and return it Monday morning and pay for a 1-day rental, however the 4-hour rental rate does not apply from Saturday afternoon to Monday morning.

We are conveniently located in Central Nanaimo at 1716 Northfield Road. You can access Northfield Road from the Old Island Highway or Bowen Road; there is also a Northfield Road exit off of the Nanaimo Parkway.

We're located closest to the Island Highway end of Northfield, in-between the European Car Specialty shop and the Nanaimo Super-Shine Car Wash.

Once you've found our blue and red sign and the colourful mural on our fence, you'll know you're in the right spot.
